Proximity radar
A radar that updates as you move: you see how many people are near and at what distance, without knowing who they are until they decide to show themselves.
Anonymous chat and Smoke Signals
It starts with an anonymous message. Smoke Signals light up a conversation with the people in your area: if someone answers, the chat opens; otherwise nothing is left behind.
Safety and privacy
The location shown to others is always obfuscated (70-500 metres) and you can hide whenever you want. Blocking and reporting are one tap away, from the profile or the chat.
Real-time notifications
We let you know when somebody enters your range or answers a Smoke Signal, also with the phone in your pocket. You can turn notifications off whenever you want, from the settings.
How it works, in three steps
From the download to your first message: two minutes.
- Install and sign in Open Google Play or the official Web App, sign in with Google: no password to invent. On Android the updates arrive by themselves.
- Turn the radar on Allow location and Nearoo shows you who is around with their location obfuscated. You can switch the radar, or location, off at any time from the app or the phone settings.
- Light a Smoke Signal Send an anonymous message in your area: if someone answers the chat opens, otherwise nothing remains. If someone behaves badly, block or report them: the chat closes at once.

Your data, in short
To work, Nearoo uses your location (also in the background, to alert you when somebody is near), your profile photo and your sign-in email. The location shown to others is always approximate; photos and messages are seen only by the users you interact with. No data is sold to third parties.

Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and the linked data at any time, from the app (Profile → Delete account) or from the website, even if you have already uninstalled the app: all you need is your email, with a confirmation link valid for 15 minutes.
